Natalie Mason from the Alvey School in Sleaford gave us a fascinating talk about the World War Two Air Raid Shelter that has been refurbished to ‘as was’ in the 1940s. It is located within the school grounds and is used to educate children into 20th Century history. There has recently been a ‘WOW’ day where re-enactors – including a jeep and a mortar that fired blanks – explained to the pupils what went on during the conflict. She went as far as wearing period clothing and hairstyle for the event and is pictured with President Tony.
